Hokkaido has always been on my Japan travel bucket list, and I finally made it happen. In just three days, I explored breathtaking landscapes, enjoyed incredible local food, and took in the unique charm of Hakodate, Otaru, and Sapporo. If you’ve ever wondered whether Hokkaido is worth visiting, this trip gave me plenty of reasons to say “yes!”
From the stunning night views of Hakodate to the freshest seafood at Nijo Market in Sapporo, this journey was filled with must-visit spots.
I wandered through Otaru’s picturesque canal streets, admired the volcanic beauty of Lake Toya, and ended my adventure with a steaming bowl of authentic miso ramen at Sapporo’s famous Ramen Alley.
Along the way, I discovered why Hokkaido is known for its incredible seafood, rich dairy, and laid-back atmosphere that feels completely different from Tokyo.
If you’re planning a trip to Japan and looking for an itinerary beyond Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, Hokkaido should definitely be on your list. Watch the full video to see all the highlights, travel tips, and food recommendations from my three-day adventure.
